Morning Devotion: Read Isaiah

Isaiah 55:1  Ho, every one that thirsteth, come ye to the waters, and he that hath no money; come ye, buy, and eat; yea, come, buy wine and milk without money and without price. 2  Wherefore do ye spend money for that which is not bread? and your labour for that which satisfieth not? hearken diligently unto me, and eat ye that which is good, and let your soul delight itself in fatness. 3  Incline your ear, and come unto me: hear, and your soul shall live; and I will make an everlasting covenant with you, even the sure mercies of David.

The Lord provided for the salvation of the entire world as prophesied in chapters 50-54. (Read those chapters and see the suffering of our Lord Jesus and the price He paid on Calvary’s cross.)

It was the plan of God the Father to bring you salvation through Christ Jesus our Lord.

Isaiah 53:10  Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in his hand.

The word “LORD” in all capital letters, means Jehovah. The very name of Jesus means Jehovah is salvation. Yes, my friend, again we see Jesus is God manifest in the flesh.

The LORD was pleased to bruise the Lord for you.

Now, in this chapter, he offers salvation freely not only to those of the house of David but to the whole world.

Romans 1:16  For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

The Lord says very emphatically “Ho, every one.” That means every one. He did not say “everyone”, but said “every one”. “Everyone” means the whole group, while the phrase “every one” means each and every individual.

The gospel call is for each and every person, individually. God calls you personally. Do you have that personal relationship with God through Jesus Christ our Lord?

Would you buy of the Lord freely?  Would you trust in the Lord Jesus to save your soul? Would you be satisfied in Christ Jesus?

Jesus said in Revelation 21:6  “And he said unto me, It is done. I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. I will give unto him that is athirst of the fountain of the water of life freely.”

Jesus also said in John 4:14  “But whosoever drinketh of the water that I shall give him shall never thirst; but the water that I shall give him shall be in him a well of water springing up into everlasting life.”

The choice is still yours,

Pastor Cook
